Forsythia buds and grass
The small buds of the forsythia twig are an energetic counterpoint to the darker, sustained tones of the mellow grass. I painted the background canvas in a spiral, to say something about how shifting the foot back and forth between the two modes always brings humanity onwards. The energetic flower buds are produced even before the leaves, bursting with joy over the spring. The grass has waited patiently all the long winter, still a shade of green, even after the sparkling flower has died.
